Mira Ray (played by Nina Dobrev) is a young woman who is struggling to come to terms with the loss of her fiancé. To help her cope with her grief, she begins to send romantic texts to his old cell phone number.
However, Mira is unaware that the number has been reassigned to Rob Burns (played by Jimmy O. Yang), a journalist who has just started working at a new job. Rob is initially confused by the messages, but soon becomes captivated by the honesty and vulnerability in Mira's words.
As he navigates his new job as a journalist, Rob becomes increasingly obsessed with finding out who Mira is and connect with her in person. He enlists the help of his famous interview subject Céline Dion (played by herself), who helps him track down Mira and ultimately win her heart.
