In Lost in America, David and Linda Howard are a successful couple in their 30s who feel disillusioned with their lives in Los Angeles. David gets passed over for a promotion at work, and Linda is unhappy with her job as a public relations executive.
One night, while watching the movie Easy Rider, David becomes inspired to quit their jobs and travel around the country in a Winnebago. Linda is initially hesitant but eventually agrees to the plan.
The couple liquidates their assets and hits the road, but they quickly discover that life on the open road is not as idyllic as they had imagined. They encounter a series of mishaps and misadventures, including getting lost, getting scammed, and getting arrested.
As they struggle to find their way, David and Linda start to question whether they made the right decision in leaving their comfortable lives behind. Gradually, they realize that they need to reassess their priorities and find a new path forward.
