Yuri Orlov, played by Nicholas Cage, is a Ukrainian immigrant living in New York City who becomes a successful arms dealer, selling weapons to various countries involved in conflicts around the world. He is assisted by his brother, Vitaly, played by Jared Leto, who provides the muscle to keep their business running smoothly.
As Yuri makes deals and evades the law, he meets and falls in love with Ava Fontaine, played by Bridget Moynahan, a beautiful model. However, Yuri's dangerous profession begins to take a toll on his personal life, as his wife becomes increasingly worried and difficult to please.
As the years pass, Yuri becomes more and more successful, dealing with figures such as the infamous Liberian dictator, Andre Baptiste Sr, played by Eamonn Walker. While he begins to amass a great deal of wealth, he also comes into contact with an Interpol agent, Jack Valentine, played by Ethan Hawke, who is determined to bring Yuri to justice.
Despite mounting pressure from all sides, Yuri continues to thrive in his business, selling weapons to some of the most brutal regimes in the world. However, as his actions begin to wear on his conscience, he starts to question the morality of his profession.
In a dramatic finale, Yuri must face the consequences of his actions and reconcile with the harm he caused, while trying to evade Interpol and stay alive in a business where many do not make it out alive.
