In Looper, Joseph "Joe" Simmons works as a looper in Kansas City in the year 2044, where he kills people sent from the future by a crime syndicate called the "Rainmaker." The victims are sent back in time with silver bars that are used to pay the loopers for their services. When a victim's loop is closed, the looper is killed by his future self, who is sent back with a golden bar, indicating his retirement, and warning him not to alter the timeline.

However, when Joe's future self (played by Bruce Willis) is sent back for assassination, he manages to escape, leading to a thrilling chase through the city. Joe's future self tells him that in the future, the Rainmaker is closing all the loops, including those of innocent loopers, and has taken control of the criminal organization. He reveals that the Rainmaker is a powerful telekinetic, and that in Joe's future, he kills Joe's wife and takes his child, who will grow up to be the Rainmaker.

Determined to change the future, Joe seeks out the Rainmaker in the past, hoping to kill him before he becomes too powerful. Along the way, he meets Sara (Emily Blunt), a tough, independent woman who lives on a farm with her young son, who she suspects has telekinetic abilities. Together, they face off against the Rainmaker's army of henchmen, culminating in a dramatic showdown between Joe and his younger self.

Looper is a smart and stylish sci-fi film that explores complex themes of time travel, fate, and the consequences of our choices. With excellent performances from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, and Emily Blunt, as well as stunning visual effects and an ingenious screenplay, it is a must-see for fans of the genre.
