Loop is a Pixar animated short film, released on Disney+ in 2020. The film is directed by Erica Milsom and produced by Lindsey Collins. It features two main characters, a non-verbal, autistic girl named Renee and a chatty boy named Marcus, who are paired together on a canoeing trip across an urban lake.

The story begins with Renee, who is portrayed as shy and withdrawn, waiting nervously for her canoeing partner to arrive. When Marcus shows up, he begins talking excitedly and enthusiastically about the trip, but quickly realizes that Renee is not able to communicate back in the same way. Despite their initial communication barrier, the two set out on their journey together.

As they paddle across the lake, Marcus attempts to engage Renee in conversation but soon realizes that he needs to learn how to communicate with her differently. He starts paying attention to Renee's non-verbal cues and gradually learns how to understand and respond to them. Through patience, empathy, and a willingness to learn, Marcus and Renee form a deeper bond and successfully complete their journey together.

Loop is a heartwarming and poignant story about the importance of empathy and understanding in human relationships. It portrays the challenges faced by individuals on the autism spectrum and highlights the need for neurotypical individuals to learn how to interact with them in a meaningful and respectful way. The film also showcases the power of human connection, even in the face of adversity and communication barriers.
