The movie Lonesome Ghosts begins with four ghosts residing in a haunted house feeling bored and unfulfilled with their routine haunting. They decide to use a telephone to call Ghost Hunters Mickey, Donald, and Goofy to their abode in hopes of enjoying a little bit of fun by scaring them off.
The Ghost Hunters arrive at the haunted house, ready for action. However, they are caught off guard when they realize that the ghosts are not actually trying to scare them, but rather entertain themselves by playing pranks on the hunters.
The ghosts carefully plan their pranks and cause the Ghost Hunters to experience a series of comical mishaps. The hunters get spooked by floating objects, doors that suddenly open and close, and other supernatural occurrences. However, they soon realize that the ghosts are only trying to have a bit of fun and decide to turn the tables on them.
The hunters trick the ghosts into believing that they have set up a trap for them and manage to scare them off, much to their amusement.
