Little Lies is a romantic comedy-drama film directed by Patricia Ferreira. The film follows the story of Matías and Eva, a couple that has been married for a few years but haven't been able to conceive a child. As a result, they have been drifting apart. However, their concern for their friend Barbara leads them to try their hand at matchmaking, believing that if they can help her find love, it will rekindle their own.
Barbara is a successful lawyer who is tired of being alone. She's been on countless dates but hasn't been able to find the right man. When Matías and Eva introduce her to Julián, she is smitten with him. He's charming, funny, and seems to have everything Barbara is looking for.
As Barbara and Julián's relationship progresses, Matías and Eva begin to suspect that there's something off about Julián. They start investigating him and find out that he's not the person he claims to be. They try their best to warn Barbara about Julián but she is too infatuated with him to listen.
As the truth about Julián's past is slowly revealed, Barbara must decide whether to believe Matías and Eva and end the relationship or risk everything and continue with Julián. The film's themes explore the consequences of lying and how people can deceive themselves when they are seeking love.
Little Lies stars Elena Anaya, Benjamín Vicuña, and Patricia Vico and was released in 2009.
