Soldier Jack deserts his unit after witnessing the brutal murder of innocent civilians by his fellow soldiers. Traumatized and guilt-ridden, Jack sets out to find his wife Eva, who he hasn't seen in years. After a long journey through treacherous terrain, Jack finally finds Eva living in a small, isolated village in the mountains. She had moved there to work in a factory, unaware of the cruel and tyrannical owner, Bar.
Despite the danger of desertion, Jack decides to stay with Eva and live a peaceful life in the mountains. However, their idyllic existence is shattered when Bar's secret police arrive in the village, hunting for deserters. Jack and Eva must flee for their lives, pursued by Bar's ruthless enforcers.
As they journey through the rugged landscape, Jack and Eva face countless obstacles and dangers. They must evade the secret police, navigate treacherous mountain passes, and survive brutal weather conditions. Along the way, they also encounter a cast of colorful characters, including a wise old hermit and a group of rebels fighting to overthrow Bar's regime.
