Drama,Action  Hong Kong

Little Dragon Maiden is a 1983 Hong Kong wuxia film directed by Chor Yuen and produced by the Shaw Brothers Studio. The film stars Leslie Cheung, Kwok Chun-fung, and Joan Lin.

The plot is loosely based on the novel Xiao Ao Jiang Hu by Jin Yong. The story follows Little Dragon Maiden (played by Lin), a young woman whose father is killed, and she is taken in by five kung fu masters who train her in martial arts. When a new emperor takes the throne, Little Dragon Maiden becomes involved in a plot to overthrow him and restore peace to the land.

Cheung plays Ling Wu-chung, a young man who falls in love with Little Dragon Maiden. Despite their different backgrounds and martial arts styles, they team up to fight against the evil imperial court and their army of assassins.

The film features spectacular fight scenes choreographed by Tang Chia, who was known for his work on other popular martial arts films including The 36th Chamber of Shaolin and The Five Deadly Venoms.

Little Dragon Maiden was a critical and commercial success upon its release, and is still considered one of the best examples of Hong Kong's wuxia genre. Cheung's performance helped to launch his career as one of the most popular actors in Hong Kong cinema.
