The businessman, Goddard Bolt (played by Mel Brooks), is known for his ruthless tactics and indifference toward the less fortunate. He takes on the bet in order to win a business deal, but quickly realizes that life on the streets is harder than he anticipated.
He is robbed of all his possessions within the first few hours and struggles to survive, resorting to scavenging for food and shelter. Along the way, he meets a group of homeless people who teach him about survival and compassion.
Among them is Molly (played by Lesley Ann Warren), a kind-hearted but streetwise woman who catches Bolt's eye. Despite their different backgrounds, they fall in love and begin a tentative romance.
As the 30 days draw to a close, Bolt must decide whether to return to his privileged life or stay and fight for the rights of the homeless community he has grown to care for. In the end, he chooses the latter, using his wealth and influence to help those in need and win Molly's heart.
Life Stinks is a comedy-drama that tackles issues of homelessness and inequality with humor and heart. It was directed and co-written by Mel Brooks, who also stars in the film.
