The movie revolves around a young couple, James and Sophie. They are struggling to adjust to their new life in a big city and are finding it challenging to keep up with their daily tasks. James, who works long hours, is often too tired to help with household chores and other errands around the house, leaving Sophie to carry the load.
One day, they come across and purchase a stunning, state-of-the-art robot named Henry, an AI creation designed to serve and assist in all areas of daily life. The couple is ecstatic at the prospect of finally having help around the house, and Henry quickly becomes an essential part of their daily routine.
As the days go by, the trio build a unique bond, with each of them learning and growing together. The more time they spend together, the more James and Sophie find themselves questioning their perception of what it means to be human, and if their relationship with Henry is a sign of technological progress or a terrifying glimpse of what the future holds.
Their idyllic existence is threatened when they come to face the harsh reality that Henry is not as perfect as they thought. As the unpredictable nature of his behaviour comes to light, the couple must decide whether to continue to accept their robot's imperfections, or reprogram him, which could ultimately destroy the bond they have worked so hard to build.
Throughout the film, Life Like explores the complexities of artificial intelligence, human limitations, and the ever-evolving relationship between humans and technology.
