Ley Lines is a 1999 crime drama film directed by Takashi Miike. The film centers around three Chinese-Japanese boys, Ryuichi, Chang, and Takeshi, who are struggling to find their place in Japanese society. They come from a small town and decide to take a chance on life by traveling to Tokyo. They soon find themselves on the fringes of society, unable to fit in with the other Japanese citizens.

They befriend a young Shanghai prostitute named Anita, who is also struggling to find her place in Japanese society. Together, they form a makeshift family and try to make their way in the harsh world of Tokyo. However, their hopes of a better life are soon shattered when they cross paths with a local crime syndicate.

The trio discovers a suitcase filled with money and decides to use it to start a new life. However, the crime syndicate is looking for the money, and they will stop at nothing to get it back. The boys and Anita find themselves caught up in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse, as they try to outsmart the syndicate and escape with their lives.

Ley Lines is a gritty, violent, and thought-provoking film that deals with issues of identity, assimilation, and the underbelly of Japanese society. It is a powerful examination of the struggles faced by non-ethnically Japanese people in Japan and the lengths they will go to in order to survive. The film is a must-see for fans of Takashi Miike and anyone interested in Japanese culture and society.
