Level 16 is a dystopian thriller film written and directed by Danishka Esterhazy. It follows the story of Vivien (played by Katie Douglas), a teenage girl who lives in Vestalis Academy, a prison-like institution where girls are trained to become "clean girls" who exemplify perfect femininity.
The girls at Vestalis Academy undergo rigorous training in etiquette, hygiene, and manners. They are taught to avoid all forms of contamination and impurities, and are prohibited from interacting with the outside world. The only form of entertainment allowed is reading clean books and watching instructional videos.
As Vivien gets closer to her graduation and being able to leave Vestalis Academy, she begins to question the true purpose of the institution. She discovers a sinister secret behind the training and the real reason why the girls are being prepared to become "clean girls". As she investigates further, Vivien realizes that she and the other girls are being used as commodities in a larger, more sinister scheme.
As tensions rise and the truth is uncovered, Vivien must fight for her survival and the survival of the other girls at Vestalis Academy. With the help of her roommate, Sophia (played by Celina Martin), and a rebellious fellow student named Rita (played by Amalia Williamson), Vivien must escape the academy and outsmart their captors.
The film explores themes of control, conformity, and the price of perfection. It is a dark and gripping tale of a society that demands perfection at all costs and the girls who refuse to conform to it.
