The movie follows the story of Holly, a successful and ambitious news reporter who returns to her small hometown of Ornaments to cover a Christmas festival. However, her plans are interrupted when she accidentally misspells her letter to Santa, which results in a summoning of Satan, who kills her parents as a trade-off for granting her wish for a successful career.
As Holly ventures to uncover the mystery behind her parents' sudden death, she is forced to confront the devil himself, who appears in different forms and disguises throughout the film. Assisted by a wise-cracking priest and a skeptical detective, Holly must solve the riddle of the Christmas murders before it's too late and Satan claims her soul.
