Let the Wrong One In is a Swedish horror-drama film directed by Tomas Alfredson, based on the novel of the same name by John Ajvide Lindqvist. The film follows the story of Oskar, a lonely and isolated 12-year-old boy living in a suburb of Stockholm. Bullied at school, Oskar dreams of revenge and finding a way to protect himself from the world around him.

When a new girl, Eli, moves in next door, Oskar is drawn to her strange and mysterious personality. As their friendship deepens, Oskar discovers that Eli is not a girl, but a vampire who appears to be forever 12 years old. Eli has been living with an older man, HÃ¥kan, who provides her with fresh blood by hunting down local residents. She is soon revealed to be the source of a series of grisly murders in the town.

Despite her bloodlust and killer tendencies, Oskar becomes infatuated with Eli and longs to protect her. Eli, in turn, grows to care for Oskar and helps him confront his bullies. As tensions in the town escalate and the police start to investigate the murders, Oskar must choose whether to protect Eli at all costs or turn her in to save his own life and the lives of others.

Let the Wrong One In is a haunting and beautiful coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of a well-crafted horror film. The film received critical acclaim upon its release in 2008, with critics praising its atmospheric tone, exceptional performances, and refreshing take on the vampire genre.
