Comedy,Romance,Drama  France

Les Parasites is a French comedy film directed by Philippe de Chauveron and released in 1999. The film follows Oulage, a shy and awkward young man who has been in love with Brigitte, a beautiful and popular woman, for years. Oulage has been planning to confess his feelings to her on New Year's Eve at her costume party, which he believes is the perfect opportunity for him to finally win her heart.

However, Oulage's plans are soon derailed when Brigitte invites a group of her friends to the party. These friends, who are all "parasites" in their own way, are determined to ruin Oulage's chances with Brigitte and make his evening a living nightmare.

Among the group of parasites are Brigitte's clingy ex-girlfriend, a manic-depressive police officer, a paranoid psychopath, a cannabis-addicted man suffering from withdrawal, and a Cuban woman who is looking for a way to get immigration papers.

As the night progresses, Oulage must navigate through a series of increasingly absurd and chaotic situations in order to try and win Brigitte's affections. He is challenged by the various personalities among the group of parasites and must keep his cool as he tries to impress Brigitte.

Les Parasites explores themes of love, romance, and the misunderstandings that can happen between individuals. The film is known for its quirky characters and witty dialogue, as well as its ability to make audiences laugh while also touching on deeper issues.
