Left Behind II: Tribulation Force is a Christian apocalyptic thriller directed by Bill Corcoran and written by Paul Lalonde and John Patus. It features a group of people who were "left behind" after the Rapture, which saw all Christians taken away to heaven. These people, led by investigative journalist Buck Williams (Kirk Cameron), form a team called the Tribulation Force with the intent of working against the Antichrist, Nicolae Carpathia (played by Gordon Currie).
The film begins with the aftermath of the Rapture. Buck Williams, who was on a commercial airplane when the event took place, awakes to find that many of the passengers are missing, including his good friend and pilot Rayford Steele (played by Brad Johnson). Buck soon joins forces with a group of Christians, including Steele's daughter Chloe (Janaya Stephens), pastor Bruce Barnes (Clarence Gilyard Jr.), and businesswoman Hattie Durham (Chelsea Noble). The Tribulation Force sets up a headquarters in a church, where they begin to organize and strategize in order to resist Carpathia's regime. They also work to help those who are struggling in the face of the disaster, including those who have been orphaned or left without resources. Meanwhile, Carpathia sets his sights on Buck Williams, seeing him as a potential threat to his power.
