Last Testament is a dramatic retelling of the events that lead up to Ricky Rodriguez's violent rampage against the Children Of God cult's leader, his mother, Maria. The film goes back and forth in time, exploring Ricky's childhood in the cult and the horrific abuse he suffered at the hands of its leaders. As a child, Ricky was subjected to sexual abuse, forced to witness orgies, and taught that his only purpose in life was to serve his mother and the cult.
As Ricky grows older, he begins to see the cult for what it truly is, and decides to flee. He spends years educating himself about the history of the cult and its manipulative tactics, and even becomes involved with anti-cult activism groups. But despite his best efforts, he cannot shake the long-lasting trauma inflicted upon him, and his anger toward his mother and the cult only grows.
In 2005, Ricky snaps and goes on a violent rampage, seeking revenge against his mother and other cult members. He documents everything on video, providing a chilling and disturbing look into the mind of a man pushed to the brink.
