The film stars Broderick Crawford as Sergeant Matt Trainor, who is leading a group of six cavalry soldiers through the desert when they are ambushed by Comanche Indians led by Black Cloud, played by Henry Brandon.

The soldiers manage to escape the attack and are soon joined by a group of stagecoach passengers, including a saloon girl named Angie, played by Barbara Hale. Together, they make their way to a deserted mission, where they find water and decide to make a stand against the Comanches.

As the group tries to hold off Black Cloud and his warriors, they realize that the Indian leader is without water and offer to trade him some in exchange for safe passage. Meanwhile, Trainor forms a bond with a young Comanche boy named Tana, played by Johnny Crawford, who was captured by Black Cloud's men.

As the situation grows more desperate, Trainor and his group must find a way to outsmart Black Cloud and escape with their lives. Along the way, they face danger from the harsh desert environment and encounter a group of hostile Apaches who are also after Black Cloud.

The Last of the Comanches is a tense and thrilling movie that explores themes of survival, courage, and the complex relationships between Native Americans and settlers in the American West. The film's cast delivers strong performances, and the action and suspense keep viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
