In the movie Last Man Standing, John Smith is a drifter who finds himself in the small, dusty town of Jericho, Texas in the midst of a bloody gang war. The two gangs, one Italian and the other Irish, are fighting over control of the town's lucrative bootlegging and gambling operations in the midst of Prohibition.
Smith initially stays neutral in the conflict, but is eventually recruited by both sides to help them gain the upper hand. He starts out working for the Italian gang, led by the ruthless and unstable Caporegime Frederico, but after a double-cross, switches sides to work for the Irish gang, led by the more composed and strategic Doyle.
As Smith moves back and forth between the two sides, tensions between the gangs escalate and violence erupts in the streets. Smith's only goal is to survive, but he finds himself increasingly drawn to a beautiful woman named Felina, who is caught in the crossfire.
As the body count rises, Smith takes matters into his own hands and sets out to eliminate both gangs once and for all. In a series of intense and bloody showdowns, he shows himself to be the ultimate survivor and the last man standing.
