Lamya's Poem follows the story of Lamya, a young Syrian girl who is forced to flee her war-torn country with her family. During her journey, she is given a book of poetry by the famous 13th-century poet, Rumi. As she reads through the book, the words seem to come to life before her eyes and she finds herself transported to a magical dreamworld where she meets Rumi when he was a boy.
In this dreamworld, Lamya and Rumi battle the monsters that follow them from their real world situations. As Lamya helps young Rumi find his calling and write the poem that will one day save her life, she discovers the power of poetry to heal and inspire.
As Lamya's journey becomes more dangerous, she learns to draw strength from Rumi's words and finds solace in the mystical dreamworld they share. Eventually, she reaches safety and starts a new life with her family, but the lessons she learns from her encounter with Rumi stay with her forever.
