Lage Raho Munna Bhai is a 2006 Bollywood comedy film, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The film is the second installment in the Munna Bhai series, and stars Sanjay Dutt as the titular character "Munna Bhai" and Vidya Balan as the radio host "Jahnvi."
The film follows Munna as he falls in love with Jahnvi, who hosts a daily radio show called "Jadoo ki Jhappi" that offers advice to its listeners. Munna, a gangster with a heart of gold, starts calling Jahnvi's show regularly and eventually meets her in person. However, their relationship is put to the test when Jahnvi's elders' home, where she takes care of senior citizens, is threatened by an unscrupulous builder who wants to demolish it to make way for a shopping mall.
Meanwhile, Munna's loyal sidekick Circuit (played by Arshad Warsi) gets involved with the builder and inadvertently helps him carry out his plan. Munna is unaware of this and is busy wooing Jahnvi every chance he gets. However, when he learns of Jahnvi's plight, he takes matters into his own hands and comes up with a plan to save the elders' home.
Munna's plan involves impersonating the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi (played by Dilip Prabhavalkar) and using his teachings to convince the builder to change his ways. The plan works, and the builder has a change of heart, allowing Jahnvi's elders' home to remain standing.
Lage Raho Munna Bhai received widespread critical acclaim and was a commercial success at the box office. The film was praised for its blend of comedy and social commentary, as well as its performances, music, and direction. It also popularized the term "Gandhigiri," which refers to using the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi to solve problems in everyday life.
