Lady of the Manor is a comedy film directed by Justin Long and co-written by Long and Melanie Lynskey. The film follows the story of a young woman named Hannah, portrayed by Melanie Lynskey, who is struggling to find direction in her life and is known for being a bit of a troublemaker.
One day, Hannah is offered a job as a tour guide at the historic estate of the wealthy and eccentric Lady Wadsworth. Despite having no experience as a tour guide, she takes the job and quickly finds herself in over her head as she struggles to keep up with the demands of the guests and the expectations of the estate's staff.
To make matters worse, Hannah begins to hear mysterious noises and encounters strange occurrences, which she soon realizes are being caused by the ghost of Lady Wadsworth's deceased husband, Malcom. As she becomes more intrigued by the ghost, Hannah starts to bond with Malcom and they form an unlikely friendship.
Together, Hannah and Malcom uncover secrets about the estate's past, and Hannah realizes that the estate and its history hold the key to her own future. Through her experiences at the manor, she discovers her true calling and learns to embrace her eccentricities.
