Lady J is a French historical drama film directed by Emmanuel Mouret. The film is set in the early 18th century and revolves around the story of a wealthy and beautiful widow named Madame de la Pommeraye who falls in love with a notorious womanizer named Marquis des Arcis. Despite warnings from her friends, de la Pommeraye succumbs to des Arcis's charms and begins a passionate affair with him. However, when des Arcis abruptly ends their relationship, de la Pommeraye becomes consumed with revenge and enlists the help of a young lady named Mademoiselle de Joncquières to help her carry out her plans. Together, the two women plot a malicious scheme to humiliate and destroy the Marquis.
