Ladies of Steel is a Finnish dark comedy directed by Pamela Tola. The film centers around Inkeri, a 75-year-old woman who has lived a mundane and unfulfilling life. When her husband, who has made her life miserable, finally pushes her over the edge, Inkeri takes matters into her own hands and kills him.
But before she turns herself in and faces the consequences of her actions, Inkeri decides to take a trip to Koli National Park with her sisters Sylvi and Raili. As they embark on their trip, Inkeri begins to reflect on her life and the feminist ideals she held in her youth.
Throughout the film, Inkeri interacts with younger women who inspire her to rediscover her sense of self, and she comes to realize that she still has a lot of life left to live. Ladies of Steel is a heartwarming and humorous film that explores themes of femininity, aging, and self-discovery.
