Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains is a 1982 film directed by Lou Adler. The film follows the story of Corrine Burns, a rebellious and angry teenager who lives with her younger sister and abusive uncle after her mother passes away. Corrine is the lead singer of a local band called The Stains, which also features her sister and another friend.

After a chance encounter with a washed-up rock band, The Metal Corpses, Corrine becomes determined to make The Stains a success. She cultivates a punk rock persona and insists that her bandmates adopt the same style. The Stains eventually hit the road on a tour, accompanied by The Metal Corpses and another younger band called The Looters.

As The Fabulous Stains gain more notoriety, Corrine becomes increasingly egotistical and manipulative, causing tension with her bandmates and the other bands on the tour. The film ultimately explores themes of the commercialization of punk rock, gender dynamics in the music industry, and the destructive effects of fame.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains was not a commercial success at the time of its release, but has since achieved cult classic status and been praised for its feminist themes and commentary on the punk scene. It features an all-star cast of 80s icons, including Diane Lane as Corrine, Laura Dern as her sister, and Ray Winstone as the lead singer of The Metal Corpses.
