L Storm is a crime thriller directed by David Lam. It is the third installment in the "Storm" film series and stars Louis Koo, Julian Cheung, and Kevin Cheng.
The movie begins with ICAC investigator William Luk (Louis Koo) and JFIU Chief Inspector Lau Po-keung (Julian Cheung) investigating a bribery case involving a construction company. Their investigation leads them to a corrupt Vice-Ministerial Level cadre who has been taking bribes from the company. However, their case hits a dead end as they are unable to gather enough evidence against the cadre.
Meanwhile, Luk is suspended from duty when a model named Eva Ng accuses him of accepting a 12 million dollar bribe. Luk denies the allegations, but his reputation takes a hit.
Lau, on the other hand, discovers that Luk has been set up and that whoever framed him is connected to his case. He suspects a bank manager named Thomson Yau (Kevin Cheng) is involved in money laundering activities and is assisting a gangster named Wong Hoi-wo. Lau's investigation leads him to Director Hong Liang of China's Anti-Corruption & Bribery Bureau (ACBB), who provides him with crucial intelligence on the money laundering scheme.
As Lau and Luk work together to unravel the corruption, they soon find themselves targeted by the gangsters and their allies. They must race against time to gather enough evidence to bring the corrupt officials to justice before it's too late.
The movie features intense action sequences and a gripping plot that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The performances by Louis Koo, Julian Cheung, and Kevin Cheng are commendable, making L Storm a must-watch for fans of crime thrillers.
