L: Change the World is a 2008 Japanese film, and the third installment in the Death Note franchise. The movie is a spin-off of the popular manga and anime series, and follows L, the world-renowned detective, as he races against time to stop a deadly virus from spreading throughout the world.
After the intense events of Death Note: The Last Name, L finds himself faced with a new challenge. A deadly virus called "Za-Ki-Mo" has been created by a terrorist group, and they plan to release it into the world in just 23 days. With his trusted assistant, Watari, out of commission, L must work alone to track down the source of the virus and prevent a global catastrophe.
L begins his investigation by visiting a lab where the virus was first created. There, he meets a young girl named Maki (Mayuko Fukuda), who was one of the researchers working on the project. Maki is the only survivor of the lab, and L believes that she may hold the key to stopping the virus.
