Kokoda

Kokoda is a 2006 Australian war film directed by Alister Grierson, based on the experiences of Australian troops fighting Japanese forces along the Kokoda trail in Papua New Guinea during World War II. The film follows a group of young Australian soldiers, who are sent to the remote and dangerous jungle terrain to defend Port Moresby from invading Japanese forces.

As the soldiers make their way up the treacherous Kokoda track, they are faced with numerous obstacles including treacherous terrain, harsh weather conditions and fierce Japanese opposition. Despite being vastly outnumbered and outgunned, the Australians manage to hold their ground and inflict heavy losses on the Japanese, inflicting a significant setback to the Japanese advance.

Throughout the film, the soldiers also grapple with personal issues and psychological strain, as they are pushed to their limits both physically and mentally. As they face the harsh realities of war, they are forced to confront their fears and personal demons, in order to survive.
