The movie Knockout follows Dan Barnes (played by Steve Austin), a former heavyweight boxer who is trying to escape his violent past. He lives a quiet life as a local high school janitor and spends most of his free time coaching an up-and-coming teenage boxer named Matty.
However, Dans life takes a turn when the reigning boxing champion, Ken Blackburn (played by Daniel Magder), arrives in town and starts dominating all his opponents. Blackburn is known for his dirty fighting tactics and his ability to intimidate his opponents both inside and outside of the ring.
Dan, who has a personal vendetta against Blackburn, decides to train a young and inexperienced boxer named Tim (played by Jaren Brandt Bartlett) to challenge Blackburn and put him in his place. Despite Tim's lack of training and experience, Dan believes that with enough hard work and determination, he can turn him into a worthy opponent.
As the big fight approaches, tensions run high as Blackburn resorts to dangerous and illegal tactics to try to take down Tim. But with Dan's guidance and Tim's determination, the two manage to overcome Blackburn's dirty tricks and give him a knockout punch that humbles him for good.
The movie ends with Dan having come full circle and finally finding the peace he's been looking for, knowing that he has helped nurture a young fighter into a skilled boxer who can stand up to anyone in the ring.
