Kites is a Hindi-language romantic action thriller film directed by Anurag Basu. It stars Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori in the lead roles. The film also features supporting actors Kangana Ranaut and Kabir Bedi in pivotal roles.
The film follows the story of Jai (Hrithik Roshan), a salsa teacher who falls in love with Natasha (Barbara Mori), a Mexican woman who is engaged to a wealthy man. They elope to Las Vegas, where they get married. However, their happiness is short-lived as Jai's brother, Robin (the only family he has), is killed by a hired assassin on the orders of Natasha's father, Bob (Kabir Bedi), who wants her to marry his business associate.
Jai is wounded in the attack and is left for dead in the Mexican desert. He manages to survive and sets out to find Natasha, who he believes is in danger. He is pursued by the police, bounty hunters, and Bob's men, who are all after him for different reasons. He meets Linda (Kangana Ranaut), a socially awkward girl who helps him on his journey by providing him with shelter and food.
As Jai and Linda travel through the desert, they develop a strong bond. Meanwhile, Natasha is also on the run from her father and his men, as she refuses to marry his business associate. She eventually reunites with Jai, and the two of them plan to leave Mexico and start a new life together.
The film features several action sequences and romantic moments, with a mix of Hindi and Spanish language used throughout. It received mixed reviews upon release but was a commercial success at the box office.
