King Ralph is a 1991 comedy film directed by David S. Ward and starring John Goodman, Peter O'Toole, and John Hurt. The film tells the story of Ralph Jones, a Las Vegas lounge singer who becomes the King of England after a freak accident kills the entire royal family.
Ralph is a brash and uncultured American with no desire to be a part of the royal family. But when he realizes he is the only surviving heir to the throne, he is forced to fly to England and take on the role of king. However, Ralph's lack of sophistication and understanding of proper etiquette quickly becomes apparent, leading to many humorous mishaps and misunderstandings.
As Ralph begins to adjust to his new life as king, he enlists the help of his charming and eccentric advisor, Lord Willingham, who helps him navigate the treacherous waters of English society. Along the way, Ralph also falls in love with a beautiful and intelligent historian named Miranda Greene, who helps him understand the importance of his role as king.
Despite facing many challenges and opposition from members of the royal court, Ralph ultimately proves that he is a worthy king and gains the respect and admiration of his people. Through his trials and tribulations, Ralph learns the true meaning of duty, honor, and sacrifice, and becomes the unlikely hero and ruler of England.
