As Connie takes her niece deeper into the woods, they come across a makeshift memorial for the victims of the hate crimes. Connie is visibly shaken but determined to face her past. However, as night falls, strange occurrences begin to happen. The trees seem to whisper, and shadows move on their own. Connie realizes that they are not alone in the woods.
Soon, they are being stalked by an unseen predator. They hear footsteps that seem to have no source, and they catch glimpses of twisted, humanoid figures lurking in the shadows. Connie realizes that the site of the past tragedies has awakened an ancient, malevolent force that feeds on grief and fear.
As they try to escape, Connie and her niece encounter other survivors of the hate crimes who have come seeking closure. Together, they must confront the King of Terrors, a supernatural entity that can only be defeated by facing one's darkest fears.
The movie builds up to a climactic showdown between the survivors and the supernatural force that has haunted the woods for years. In the end, Connie must confront the source of her own trauma to save herself and her niece from a fate worse than death.
