King Kong Lives is a sequel to the classic King Kong movie and it picks up exactly where the first one left off. Kong, after suffering fatal wounds from bullets and falling off the Empire State Building, is presumed dead. However, doctors and scientists manage to revive him through an experimental heart transplant.
As Kong recovers, he is put into captivity and studied by Dr. Amy Franklin (Linda Hamilton) and other scientists. They discover that Kong has a mate, a giant female gorilla named Lady Kong, and set out to capture her so they can mate and give the species a chance to survive. However, this proves to be a challenging task as Lady Kong proves to be as strong and ferocious as her male counterpart.
Meanwhile, a group of hunters sets out to capture or kill Kong, unaware that he is now being protected and cared for by his human allies. This leads to a dramatic showdown between Kong and his enemies, as well as a heartwarming love story between Kong and Lady Kong.
Despite mixed reviews, the movie was a commercial success and remains a cult classic for fans of the giant monster genre.
