Killing Zoe is a 1994 crime thriller directed by Roger Avary, who also wrote the screenplay. It stars Eric Stoltz as Zed, a professional safecracker who travels to Paris to meet his old friend Eric (played by Jean-Hugues Anglade), who plans to rob the Banque Internationale de Paris on Bastille Day.

Eric has assembled a gang of other criminals to help with the robbery, including his girlfriend Martina (Julie Delpy) and a volatile junkie named Ricardo (Gary Kemp). Zed is initially hesitant to get involved, but agrees to help after meeting Zoe (Elina Lรถwensohn), a prostitute he hires for the night who turns out to be the niece of the bank's security chief.

The robbery starts off smoothly, but things quickly go awry when Ricardo becomes unhinged and starts shooting people. Zed realizes too late that Eric's plan was poorly organized and that the gang has no escape route. Trapped inside the bank with the police closing in, Zed and Zoe become unlikely allies as they try to survive the violent siege.

The film's nonlinear narrative jumps back and forth in time, showing flashbacks of Zed's fateful night with Zoe and his troubled past with drugs. The intense violence and nihilistic tone of the film drew mixed reviews upon its release, but it has gained a cult following over the years.
