Killing Season is a 2013 action thriller movie directed by Mark Steven Johnson. The movie stars Robert De Niro as Benjamin Ford, a retired American colonel who has isolated himself in a cabin in the remote Smoky Mountain wilderness to cope with the psychological aftermath of his experiences during the Bosnian War.

One day, Ford is visited by Emil Kovac (John Travolta), a former Serbian soldier who claims to be a tourist but is actually seeking revenge for the deaths of his family members during the war. Kovac initiates a deadly cat-and-mouse game with Ford, forcing him to relive his brutal past and fight for survival against a skilled and ruthless enemy.

As the two men engage in a brutal game of psychological warfare and violence, their histories and motivations are revealed through flashbacks and conversations. Eventually, Ford and Kovac confront each other in a final showdown, where they must confront the consequences of their actions during the war and reconcile with the ghosts of their past.

Killing Season received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising the performances of De Niro and Travolta but criticizing the movie's formulaic plot and limited character development. Regardless, the movie remains a tense and action-packed thriller that explores the lingering effects of war on its participants and the human capacity for vengeance and redemption.
