Kick-Ass 2 takes place several years after the events of the first movie. Dave Lizewski, aka Kick-Ass, has retired from superhero duties and is now focusing on graduating high school. However, he can't resist the thrill of vigilantism and begins patrolling the streets again, this time teaming up with a group of amateur heroes led by the patriotic Colonel Stars and Stripes.
Meanwhile, Chris D'Amico, formerly known as Red Mist, has turned to a life of crime after the death of his father, who was killed by Kick-Ass in the first movie. He reinvents himself as The Mother Fucker and assembles a team of villains known as the Toxic Mega Cunts to wreak havoc on the city and get revenge on Kick-Ass.
As The Mother Fucker's gang begins attacking and killing members of Kick-Ass's team, including Colonel Stars and Stripes, Hit-Girl comes out of retirement and joins forces with Kick-Ass to take down the villains once and for all.
The movie features a lot of over-the-top action scenes, dark humor, and explores the notion of real people taking on superhero personas to make a difference in their communities. It also delves into the psychological effects of vigilante justice and the consequences of trying to be a hero in a world that's not always receptive to it.
