Karmalink is set in the year 2117 and follows the story of Kanya, a teenage orphan living in the slums of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She is intelligent, curious, and has a strong sense of justice. She befriends a boy named Chan who has been having vivid visions of what he believes is a past life. Kanya is initially skeptical but when Chan tells her details about his supposed past life that he couldn't have possibly known, she becomes intrigued.
Together, they begin to investigate his visions, and their curiosity leads them to a dark and futuristic underground lab where they discover a group of scientists experimenting with reincarnation.
