Kamui is a skilled ninja who has abandoned his clan due to his disagreement with their strict code of conduct. He becomes a fugitive and is pursued by his former comrades who want him dead.
While on the run, Kamui meets a fisherman named Hanbei who offers him refuge with his family. Hanbei's daughter, Sugaru, is initially wary of Kamui's presence but eventually grows to trust him. Slowly, Kamui becomes a part of Hanbei's family and the small fishing village they reside in.
However, Kamui's past catches up to him and he is forced to use his ninja skills to protect his new family from harm. In the end, Kamui must make a difficult decision between his newfound loyalty to the fisherman and his desire for revenge against his former clan.
The movie is based on a manga series of the same name by Sanpei Shirato and is directed by Yoichi Sai. It features stunning aerial martial arts sequences and breathtaking scenery of rural Japan. The story explores themes of loyalty, honor, and redemption set against the backdrop of feudal Japan.
