Kadaikutty Singam is a Tamil-language drama film directed by Pandiraj and produced by Suriya. The film stars Karthi in the lead role, with Sayyeshaa, Sathyaraj, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Arthana Binu in supporting roles.
The story revolves around Gunasingam, a hardworking farmer who lives in a remote village in Tamil Nadu with his large family. Despite facing several challenges, including a debt crisis, Gunasingam believes in the importance of family and works towards keeping them together. However, his beliefs are often misunderstood by others, including his father and brothers, who do not see the value in his efforts.
As Gunasingam struggles to keep his family united, he also falls in love with Kannukiniyal, a city girl who is studying in his village. Their love story faces opposition from Kannukiniyal's father, who wants her to marry someone from her own city. On the other hand, Gunasingam's family is also against their relationship as Kannukiniyal is not from their community.
The film deals with several social issues, including caste barriers and traditional beliefs, and highlights the importance of family and unity. The performances of the lead actors, especially Karthi and Sathyaraj, were widely praised by critics and audiences. Kadaikutty Singam was a commercial success and was also dubbed and released in Telugu as Chinna Babu.
