In the movie Kaala, the gangster from Tirunelveli, played by superstar Rajinikanth, goes by the name Kaala. He is revered by the people of Dharavi, a slum in Mumbai, for his courage and leadership in protecting them from the corrupt politicians and land mafia who seek to exploit the impoverished residents for their own gain.
As the struggles between Kaala and the powerful forces seeking to take over Dharavi escalate, Kaala must not only protect his people but also confront his own past and family history.
