K-911 is a 1999 action-comedy film and the sequel to the 1989 film K-9. James Belushi reprises his role as Detective Mike Dooley and his canine partner Jerry Lee, who are still active in the Los Angeles Police Department. However, due to their age and deteriorating condition, Captain Roger Byers (played by Joe Palese) insists that they work with a young and disciplined team consisting of the ambitious Sergeant Welles (played by Christine Tucci) and her Doberman Zeus.

Despite their initial reluctance and the clash of personalities, Dooley and Jerry Lee work alongside the new team to solve a series of crimes that involve a sharpshooter targeting the LAPD. Throughout the film, Dooley and Jerry Lee's antics provide comedic relief, while Sergeant Welles and Zeus's discipline and determination contrast with their older colleagues' unorthodox methods.

The plot thickens when it is revealed that the sharpshooter is a disgruntled former police officer seeking revenge on the LAPD for perceived injustices. The climax of the film sees Dooley and Jerry Lee working together with Sergeant Welles and Zeus to apprehend the sharpshooter and prevent further casualties.

Ultimately, K-911 is a lighthearted and entertaining film that blends humor and action to showcase the dynamic between two generations of police officers and their canine partners.
