The movie starts with headline news that the long-awaited volcano on the supposedly "extinct" isla Nublar is about to erupt, and the dinosaurs are in grave danger. This news reaches the outside world, and an intense debate begins on whether the world should intervene or let nature take its course. Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), the former Jurassic World park manager, is now the head of the Dinosaur Protection Group, and she is determined to protect the dinosaurs from a possible second extinction.
Claire's attempts to rally support for the dinosaurs are not successful, and she realizes that the only way to save them is to take action. She approaches Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), her ex-boyfriend, who is now living a simple life and training Velociraptors on his own. Owen initially refuses to join her but eventually agrees when he realizes that his beloved raptor, Blue, is still alive and in danger.
Together, Claire and Owen, along with a team of experts and a wealthy philanthropist (Benjamin Lockwood), return to the island. Their mission is to evacuate as many dinosaurs as possible to a new sanctuary island, while also dealing with unexpected twists and turns along the way.
However, as they explore the island, they uncover a sinister plot, which involves the creation of a new hybrid dinosaur called the Indoraptor. This new dinosaur is incredibly intelligent and dangerous, and the team must stop it at all costs.
The movie's climax takes place in Lockwood's mansion, where the Indoraptor has gone on the loose. With the help of Blue, Owen, Claire, and the rest of the team, they must fight to survive and protect the remaining dinosaurs from harm.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ends on a bittersweet note, with the remaining dinosaurs being transported to the new sanctuary island, and the realization that the once-great creatures are now truly endangered.
