Juno MacGuff, played by Ellen Page, is a confident and independent-minded 16-year-old girl from a suburb in Minnesota who discovers she is pregnant after having sex with her longtime friend, Paulie Bleeker, played by Michael Cera.
Juno decides to have an abortion, but after the clinic staffs fail to console her, she changes her mind and decides to carry the baby to term and find a loving couple to adopt the child.
Juno's supportive father, played by J.K. Simmons, and her stepmother, played by Allison Janney, are open-minded and willing to help her through the pregnancy. Juno meets a couple, Mark and Vanessa Loring, played by Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner, who seem like the perfect prospective parents.
As her pregnancy progresses, Juno grapples with the challenges of growing up, including dealing with the judgments from her peers and her increasing love for Paulie. Meanwhile, Mark's behavior becomes concerning as he seems to be more interested in Juno than his wife.
In the end, Juno gives birth to a healthy baby boy and chooses to give him to Vanessa and Mark, despite the latter's behavior. Juno ultimately learns not only about the challenges of being a young mother and the importance of support from friends and family, but also about the complications of adult relationships and the true nature of love.
