Second Chances in June

Comedy,Drama  Australia

June Again is a heartwarming Australian dramedy film directed by JJ Winlove. The story follows June (Noni Hazlehurst), an elderly woman suffering from dementia who suddenly awakens from her hazy state and regains her mental faculties. With only a few days left to live, June is determined to make the most of her time and rectify past mistakes by reconnecting with her estranged children and saving the family's struggling wallpaper business.

June's four adult children are all dealing with their own personal struggles, estranged from each other and their mother. The eldest son, Gary (Stephen Curry), is a workaholic who barely makes time for his wife and child. The second son, Tom (Trevor Ashley), is a struggling musician with a drinking problem. The youngest daughter, Ginny (Claudia Karvan), is a workaholic lawyer with a crumbling marriage. The black sheep of the family, Lenny (Uli Latukefu), is a troubled ex-convict struggling to find his place in the world.

June's sudden recovery brings the family back together as they grapple with their own regrets and resentments. June's memory starts to fade once again, but the family learns to cherish the time they have left with her. Along the way, June reconnects with her old flame, Harold (Nash Edgerton), and finds a sense of closure to the one love that got away.

With heartwarming performances from the talented cast, June Again is a bittersweet tale of family, love, and the power of hope in the face of adversity. The film celebrates the beauty of second chances, and the importance of forgiving oneself and others.
