In the movie Jumping Jacks, Hap Smith (played by Dean Martin) is a nightclub entertainer who is left without a partner when his friend and former partner Chick Allen (Jerry Lewis) joins the army. Hap decides to create a new act with a female partner, but it's not as successful as their previous routine.
Chick is stationed at Fort Benning and becomes responsible for organizing a soldier show. He realizes that he needs Hap's help, as he knows how to entertain the troops. However, Hap is unable to get onto the base since he's not a soldier.
Hap comes up with a plan to impersonate a hapless soldier and get onto the base. However, once he's there, he finds himself in a series of mishaps and misunderstandings that prolong his masquerade.
Things get even more complicated when Hap falls for the beautiful daughter of the commanding officer, and Chick discovers that Hap is not a real soldier. Hap is finally forced to reveal his true identity, but not before he and Chick create a series of hilarious and chaotic situations.
Jumping Jacks features the classic comedy duo of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis and is full of their trademark humor and physical comedy. It's a fun and entertaining movie that showcases their talents as performers.
