Izzy Daniels, played by Corbin Bleu, is a talented young boxer who dreams of winning the Golden Gloves, following in his father's footsteps. He spends all his time training at the gym, but one day, when his friend Mary (Keke Palmer) asks him to help out her Double Dutch team, he reluctantly agrees.
Initially, Izzy is skeptical of jump rope, but he soon discovers a hidden passion for it. He connects with the team, and finds a new outlet for his competitive spirit. With the support of his new friends and coach, he learns to balance his love of boxing with his newfound love of Double Dutch.
As the team prepares for the upcoming competition, Izzy faces setbacks and challenges, including disapproval from his father. In the end, however, Izzy and the team prove their abilities and win the tournament, proving to Izzy's father and themselves that Double Dutch is just as rigorous and rewarding as boxing.
