Julie Darling is a psychological thriller released in 1983. The movie follows the story of a teenage girl named Julie, who has just lost her mother and is now living with her stepfather and stepbrother. Julie is still grieving the loss of her mother and is struggling to accept her new family.
One day, Julie discovers that her stepmother is having an affair with the local doctor. Out of anger and frustration, Julie decides to take revenge on her stepmother and brother for not being able to save her mother's life. She comes up with a plan to poison her stepmother, and when that fails, she eventually murders her stepmother and brother in a gruesome and violent manner.
As Julie's plan unfolds, she starts to experience hallucinations and nightmares of her mother's death. She becomes increasingly paranoid and starts to spiral out of control. Eventually, her stepfather discovers what had happened and Julie is brought to trial.
The movie showcases the psychological breakdown of Julie and how grief and anger can lead to disastrous consequences. The film is a disturbing and intense portrayal of the effects of trauma and loss on a young person's psyche.
