Juanita is a 2019 American drama film directed by Clark Johnson and based on the novel "Dancing on the Edge of the Roof" by Sheila Williams. The film stars Alfre Woodard as Juanita, a single mother in her 50s dealing with life's struggles. She works as a nurse at a hospital in Columbus, Ohio, but is unhappy with her life.

Tired of her routine, Juanita decides to take a trip to Montana, where she longs to start fresh and find some peace. She leaves her kids behind and boards a Greyhound bus to the rural town of Paper Moon. Arriving there, she settles into a hotel and befriends the owner and other locals.

Juanita begins to explore the scenic beauty of the region, and at one point she stumbles upon a nearby ranch and takes a job as a cook. She starts to rebuild herself and rekindle her passions, engaging in a romantic relationship with a local man.

However, Juanita's past comes back to haunt her when her son shows up in Paper Moon. She must face the consequences of her choices and decide whether to stay in Montana or return to her old life in Ohio.

Overall, Juanita is a heartwarming tale of reinventing oneself and finding joy in unexpected places. The performances, especially by Woodard, are excellent, and the Montana landscape adds to the film's beauty.
