Juan of the Dead

Horror,Comedy  Cuba,Spain

Juan of the Dead is a horror-comedy film from Cuba, directed by Alejandro Brugués. It follows Juan, a lazy and unambitious slacker living in Havana, who wakes up one day to find that the city has been overrun by zombies. Initially, Juan and his friends think it's just a passing fad or some kind of government propaganda, but soon they realize that the zombie apocalypse is real and they will have to fight for their survival.

While the rest of the city is in chaos and the government tries to cover up the zombie outbreak, Juan and his friends (including his trusty sidekick Lazaro) decide to start a business of their own. They offer their services to people who want to get rid of their zombie loved ones, claiming that they are experts in killing the undead. Their slogan is "We kill your loved ones. How can we help you?"

As the zombie outbreak continues to spread, Juan and his team become more and more popular, building up a reputation as the best zombie killers in Havana. They use everything from harpoons and machetes to slingshots and fireworks to take down the zombies, while still finding time to crack jokes and engage in ridiculous hijinks.

Along the way, Juan meets a woman named Camila and her daughter Vlady, and the four of them team up to face the zombie hordes together. They encounter all kinds of crazy situations, including a zombie who can talk, a zombie who plays the trumpet, and even a zombie who is obsessed with salsa dancing. However, they soon discover that the real threat may not be the zombies themselves, but the government and their attempts to control the situation.

Juan of the Dead is a witty and irreverent take on the zombie genre, filled with social commentary, political satire, and lots of gore. It's a must-see for fans of horror-comedy and anyone who loves a good zombie flick with a unique twist.
